To add a new customer on the fly while creating a new shipment or editing an existing shipment, first press the New Shipment Button located in the upper right hand corner of the header. This will take you to the new shipment form where you input information for new loads. Then, press the "Customer" field to bring up the customer select and edit modal.
Or, if you are already in the new shipment screen from an existing shipment, simply press the "Customer" field to bring up the same customer select and edit modal.
Selecting an Existing Customer
To select an existing customer from your network, start typing the name of the customer you are looking for in the "Name" field. As you type, FreightPath will bring you suggestions and help you auto-fill the search query you are looking for.
If the customer you are looking for is already in your network, selecting them from your list will pre-fill all the fields existing in that customer. From here, you can also choose to add a new customer or update an existing one.
Adding a New Customer
To add a new customer using the same modal form, enter in the name of a new customer (i.e. not in your network) and fill out the required information.
From this screen, you are able to set the payment information, primary contact, and bill-to address. Other additional information can be added later by navigating to the network page using the globe icon on the left hand side main menu. Pressing select after you have filled out details will save the new customer into your address book in network.
Updating an Existing Customer
To update an existing customer's contact information, payment preference, or bill to address, the same process can be taken.
After selecting a customer using the autocompleting search, simply change any fields you desire and press select to change them. For further changes please navigate to the network page using the left hand side main menu.
